Gokyo Valley
Hiking in the Mount Everest region
The Gokyo Valley Trek is one of the most beautiful treks in the Everest Region. Most of the trail to Gokyo Valley is the same as the route of the Everest Base Camp Trek until Sanasa. The scared lake Gokyo is probably the largest lake at such an altitude. During this trip there is higher possibility of getting high altitude mountain sickness compared to the Everest Base Camp trek because you will spend only a few nights above 4000 m and of course you can enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains and a beautiful sunrise from Gokyo Ri.
Gokyo Ri
Lookout at Cho Oyu and Mount Everest
Gokyo Ri is the viewpoint from where you can see one of the most beautiful views in the Himalayas: Mt. Cho You, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and many other beautiful seven- and six-thousand-metre peaks. The trail and the teahouses are less crowded in the Gokyo Valley Trek. Although the trail is quite demanding, it is easier than the Everest Base Camp Trek. It covers most of the major attractions of the Everest Region. There is also a way to the Everest Base Camp via the Chola Pass if you are keen to see the Everest Base Camp and Kalapattar (5550 m) or a way back via the Renjola Pass. Our itinerary can be customized depending on your interests.
