The first National Park in Nepal
Chitwan is the first national park in Nepal founded in 1973. In 1984 it was entered onto the UNESCO world heritage list. It used to be the royal hunting grounds. Chitwan wildlife safari tour is one of the popular activity in Nepal. The park covers an area of 932 km2 and it is home for more than 700 species of wildlife. TRIP ROUTE PLAN
Arrival day in Kathmandu
(1350 m), pick-up from the airport and transfer to hotel, welcome dinner and a trip briefing in the evening (D)
Drive to Chitwan
(172 km, 5-6 hrs); after lunch and some time for refreshment our tour starts with a short walk to Tharu Village, and then to the National Park Visitors Centre. We watch the sunset from the bank of Rafti River and return to the hotel. After dinner we will take you to the Tharu Cultural House to show you a culture programme (B, L, D)
Early morning after breakfast
we drive to the bank of Rapti River. Canoeing on Rapti River, jungle walk, visit to the elephant breeding centre, elephant safari (B, L, D)
Kathmandu
Early morning we wake up for a bird watching tour and after breakfast we go to Kathamandu - farewell dinner in the evening (B, D)
Departure day
