The Annapurna Region is one of the most popular trekking regions in Nepal. Every year thousands of travellers visit that region. The Annapurna Region is the location of three mountains higher than eight thousand metres: Annapurna I (8091 m), Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and Manaslu (8156 m), and in addition an infinite number of magnificent, majestic mountains forming part of the Great Himalayas Range. In connection with large differences in height and climate you will see unthinkably different landscapes – from rice fields to snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, and vegetation – from subtropical, through high-mountain, Alpine to step and desert plants.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the most popular treks in Nepal. It is alternatively known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. Every year over 60,000 trekkers make this trip. With regard to the stunning view of the mountains, beautiful landscapes, rhododendron forests blooming in spring and Gurung villages, it is one of the nicest treks in Nepal and one of the most popular among trekkers. The trek to Annapurna Base Camp starts after a  90 minute drive from Pokhara. The lowland trail leads along the Modi River through nice villages and rice fields.
