The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most beautiful treks in Nepal. It is a bit challenging and physically you need to be in a good shape, have prior hiking experience and be able to acclimatize well. The trail leads through the world's deepest gorge – Kali Gandaki, passing Annapurna I (8091 m) in the east ad Dhaulagiri (8167 m) in the west. The highest point of this trek is Thorong La Pass (5416 m). The trek can start after a drive from either Kathmandu or Pokhara. During the trek you will have an opportunity to explore the local culture, villages, monasteries, rivers, waterfalls and a stunning view of mountains.
For the first few days the trip continues through different villages and passes a few suspension bridges. The greater the altitude, the less human settlements. At present, an off-road drive is possible as far as to Manang and from Muktinath to Pokhara but trekking in this region is still worth the effort – in particular with regard to the magnificent views of the mountains from Pisang to Muktinath. The Annapurna Circuit Trek – although a little changed by the road under construction – is still a life adventure that guarantees many unique memories.
